Curious Where This Series Goes, But Not For Me Yet.

Preliminary: Even tho I've read graet things about some QoL features of putting the GOG Daggerfall onto Daggerfall Unity system or something, I will stick with the idea of the chronology project and play the original as is. I highly doubt I will visit even a fraction of the uh 15k towns, and will be impressed if I actually finish the main story. But I will still consider it a huge success of fa game if I sink some hours into it and take some advantage of the openendedness. My yougner brother loves Oblivion and Skyrim, grew up with them, so he's very excited to see me play this. I picked Dark Elf from Morrowind for my race :-p and let the class be selected by questions.

I usually don't have the patience for rolling my stats/skills, but I guess the ttrpg Dragonbane has increasde my patience who knows I may have to give ULtima etc a better chance. It'll all come down to the controls and how it plays whether I will engage with this complex of an RPG. Cuz the story isn't really doing it for me, adn these live action FMVs aren't it for me anymore lol. The cheesiness is profound. Is the central plot the emperor being concerned about a love letter being lost :-p I'll give it a shot.

Ok the controls are quite solid so far. The music is a bit much. But I am feeling like I could enjoy this. Worried it seems it will be very dungeon-heavy, I was more so looking forward to the roleplaying and town part of things. Hopefully some sentimental music cuz I can't get by with just dungeon-y music.

Lol they have this nice tutorial but dont tell me how to look down for this first enemy which I assume is a rat.

Well unfortunately, I wound upm giving up even on the 2nd playthrough. I know it's the tutorial but it is way too focused on combat, which is by far the clunkiest part. Even after switching to mouse view control, which I liked much more, it just felt awkward swingin the weapon. And it's the usual trap I've always felt about CRPGs: wayyyy too many buttons/controls. I think JRPGs being simplified to fit into a console controllers controls is valid. But I do look forward to later Elder Scrolls to see where it goes from here. Plus, if the Look and Sound were more remarkable, I probly would've pushed more through. But with generic CRPG/dungeon-crawler music, and the Look not surpassing its contemporaries and not some new innovative Look, it just wasn't worth it. I did push through more than I expected tho, even getting through the headache of the Imp, so I give it credit. I just don't consider being large, in and of itself, a drive to play, as opposed to good Look or Sound or, most of all, Play. Mind you, I spent near an hour just getting that far lol but mostly character creating and exploring control settings, rebinding to WASD, etc.

Look: 7/10
