Started it thr first time and couldn't get engaged, then started it a second time and played through all of it. With the fallout games, I always need help with them. Your choices and stats really affect gameplay, I love and hate it because I want to know all the consequences of my choices.

Does anyone know if there is a mod for a better minimap? What I mean by "better", I would like to see if my target is above or below me, or on the same floor. I keep getting lost and it's just really frustrating for me.

i think i borked this game in the modding process by adding a potentially uninstallable difficulty mod that i most definitely thought would be ok to install. it was not ok. i'm getting my ass kicked, and turning the mod off doesn't change much. honestly, i don't have the patience to troubleshoot and re-mod, so i'm likely going to be …

kinda find myself wishing this one was a visual novel, because even with mods everything but the dialogue hasn't aged very well and feels like more of a chore than a feature most of the time. so far the story is making me walk places for ages and shoot lots of people when all i want to be doing is talking to them and saying funny shit instead. there's not much of a drive to follow the plot either because it's more open-ended than the vault beginnings of other fallouts, though so far i am curious enough about things to keep going. just barely.
the dialogue, though. i've seen so many hilarious screencaps over the years, i really hope i can keep going just for that (and for the dlc, which i've heard are an improvement).

New Vegas is a weird game for me. One of those I should like more than I did. I mean, I did like it, but I never got what other people see in it. And I have played FO1 and FO2 and loved them. But it's been many years (9? 10?) since I played so I got it on Steam …
New Vegas is a weird game for me. One of those I should like more than I did. I mean, I did like it, but I never got what other people see in it. And I have played FO1 and FO2 and loved them. But it's been many years (9? 10?) since I played so I got it on Steam for cheap and started a new game.
Started a new game. I never loved the beginning of this game. I prefer FO3, starting out in a vault. I just find that feel preferable. I also remember being disappointed by New Vegas (the zone). It wasn't....well...Vegas enough. It looked kind of like the same old drab the rest of the game looked like. And I love gambling minigames but I remember just being utterly confused by the card game (Caravan, I think it was called).
Maybe I'll see something else in this game. But I already have to restart. I made a melee/strength guy and I hate it. I ALWAYS play these kind of RPGs as a sneaking/speech type, and I don't have a lot of fun any other way. So I'll have to throw away those first 3 hours and start again.

I didnt reconized the world as that big. The missions are little bit repetitiv and are combined with so much walking, i like walking in games but its even more than in Red Dead Redemtion. Furthermore i feel like iam overpowerd already even though i play on hardcore mode (Brawler Level 15). Tell me your NV-Stories!
