The fact I'm still playing with randos online even after finishing the story and unlocking everything should tell you everything you need to know. I really, really liked Exoprimal and see myself playing every now and then until they ruined it in a future update or kill the servers because they're not making all the money they want.
Both options are sadly realistic nowadays.

The real problem with this game is the monetization. Unless you got it in Game Pass, you paid full price for it and it still wants you to buy a season pass, cosmetics and even early access to unlockable classes. It's ridiculous and I understand every person that wants to ignore this game because of that.
Its a real shame because this is the first online multiplayer game in a while that I still play just because its fun and not because i want to unlock something or finish a season pass.
I think Exoprimal is in a weird position where for some unknown reason... I just really like it but it's really nothing special in terms of games I've played. I dunno, there's just something about blasting a bunch of dinosaur hordes that's fun. There's some content updates coming soon too, so hopefully there will be more gameplay variety cause I won't lie, it's pretty repetitive as of right now. I do recommend it if you have game pass though. I don't think I'd pay $60 for this game.
Some ~15 hours in. The game is super fun - especially with a group of friends. The exosuits feel great, which are the game's equivalent of hero characters, but it's a weird omission to only allow the player to learn what an exosuit does by jumping into a match with it, and not presenting its moveset in outside of the actual matches.
Equally satisfying is mowing down hordes of dinosaurs, as well as taking out the big tough ones. The game is a tad grindy when it comes to unlocking new content, and it's not clearly communicated that new game modes and scenarios will be unlocked by playing matches, but the content that you do unlock is crazily fun.
The story is kinda out there, but I do enjoy it somewhat - it's just a shame it's not that integrated into the game, as you unlock cutscenes by playing matches, and then you have to watch them afterwards. It's not unlikely you'll have 5+ cutscenes waiting for you after a co-op play session (granted you save them for after the co-op session to not have your party members waiting for you).
This is not a complete review as I'm not …

This is not a complete review as I'm not through the story yet to unlock and try a bunch of exosuits and their possible customization, but it's real good so far, it's as fun and satisfying as I was hoping.
It was super fun at first. Collecting storyline data was neat. It got monotonous after a few days. only 5 types of dinosaurs so far. I don’t know. It just seems like a generic free-to-play game that wasn’t free. It would probably be more fun with friends.
Thanks to its fast-paced trailers, Exoprimal had a lot going for it. Unfortunately, after just a few hours of play, I soon realize that the content is not up to scratch. Without being exceptional per se, it nonetheless has a certain charm: what a pity. The thrilling idea of putting pressure on the two teams during game sessions is quite clever, as are the various exoskeletons that delight me. But the whole thing is swiftly marred by the redundancy that sets in. If the Japanese studio does not get involved soon, Exoprimal could well disappear like the dinosaurs...
Exoprimal on Capcomin kokeilu hero shooter -genressä. Omana kikkana pelissä enimmäkseen tapetaan kilpaa tietokoneen ohjaamia vihollisia eikä muita nettipelaajia. PvPvE taisi olla pelityypille lätkäisty kuvaus.
Exoprimalissa hypätään uudestaan ja uudestaan "taistelusimulaatioiihin", joissa kaksi viisijäsenistä tiimiä kilpailee erilaisissa dinolahtaustehtävissä. Pelaajat voivat valita erilaisista exosuit-hahmoista, jotka on jaettu Overwatch-tyyliin dps-, support- ja tank -luokkiin. Varsin tuttuun tapaan, jokaisella hahmolla on omat kykynsä, joiden käyttöä rajoittaa cooldown-mittarit.
Nettiräiskinnästä puhuttaessa "pelin loppupuolella" on huomiotaherättävä sanapari. Exoprimal pyrkii tässäkin mielessä tekemään eri lailla kuin kilpailijansa: pelissä on melko monimutkainen tarina, joka aukeaa pikkuhiljaa nettipelimatseja tahkoamalla. Tehtävien jälkeen pelaajat saavat dialoginpätkiä …

Nettiräiskinnästä puhuttaessa "pelin loppupuolella" on huomiotaherättävä sanapari. Exoprimal pyrkii tässäkin mielessä tekemään eri lailla kuin kilpailijansa: pelissä on melko monimutkainen tarina, joka aukeaa pikkuhiljaa nettipelimatseja tahkoamalla. Tehtävien jälkeen pelaajat saavat dialoginpätkiä avattavaksi "analyysikartasta". Tarpeeksi tarinapätkiä kelaamalla pelaajalle heitetään tarinaa eteenpäin vieviä tehtäviä, joissa usein on jokin isompi pahis kurmotettavana.
Had a ton of fun with this one, story was not what I was expecting and the stakes felt kind of low. However the gameplay is a lot of fun. Needs more mission variety for it to have any long term staying power, however the game is well executed and I didn't notice any bugs.
Beat game with 710/1000 Achievements Play Time 28 Hours.
Well that was fast:
After Just A Year, Capcom's Live-Service Dino Game Is Going Extinct
I'm liking this so far, but I can see how a lot of people are saying it gets repetitive. Too much storytime between shooting dinosaurs, IMO.
Why are you not playing Exo Primal? If you miss Overwatch 1, this brings back those vibes 100%. Enjoy. Keep playing to unlock new modes, enemies, and exo suits! "We anticipate your inevitable participation in the War Games!"
Starting to near 10 hours with this. I'm still having fun and the gameplay is becoming more varied now (more dinos and objective types). Maybe the variety should have kicked in a bit faster though, but at least it does to some capacity. I have played with Witch Doctor the most. Usually a healer is missing from the team and I kinda like the huge jumps and AoE shock-weapon that Witch Doctor has.
I also started to delve into the story stuff, just out of curiosity of seeing what the game has to offer. The story stuff is structured in a pretty interesting way: you have to manually open each dialog and cutscene from a "map screen" if you want to know the story. Playing missions lets you open more. This is done, of course, because majority of people couldn't care less of the story of a multiplayer shooter. It's still something I haven't encountered before.
The story itself is just okay. Some amusing dialog, some interesting bits, nothing to write home about. At least for now.
Started playing on game pass and I think it's pretty fun so far. Has a similar formula to other looter-shooters, so you know what to expect. I like the dinosaur stuff, reminds me of all the dinosaur books and things I had as a kid lol. We'll see how the game progresses though
Wouldn't have bought this myself but since it's on Gamepass, gave it a go. First impression is that it's a really fun time killer. It's fast and fluid, it looks stylish, it has dinosaur rains. I don't know how long-lasting entertainment it is or what kind of progression it has to keep it interesting but for now, it's fun.
Dear Overwatch bros and sis.
For years, I laughed at the "stay with the payload memes".Now that I'm playing Exoprimal with randos, I finally knew your suffering every time I get to a "protect the data key final mission".
Motherfuckers just don't stay with the motherfucking data key.
I'm sorry. I'm paying for my sins.
60 bucks game with nothing but match based multiplayer encounters and a small selection of "classes" some of which are already locked behind "money or grind" on launch, while also already having ads on main menu for "buy skins", "buy battle pass" and (my favorite) "buy head start", respectively.
On launch. 60 bucks.
I guess if you like it play it while you can, I'd bet it'll last as much as other multiplayer capcom endeavors that aren't street fighter.
First impressions: I've had a lot of fun but randos on the Internet just don't want to work as a team. I just had a match with four DPS and nobody wanted to change to tank.
We lost. Obviously.
Really enjoying the game via the open beta test that's going on right now. It's very chaotic, and I enjoy the PvEvP mix, but I'm interested to see if it holds up in the long run. I hope it does, but I'm not entirely certain, but destroying hordes of dinosaurs with flashy exosuits is damn good fun.
