The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game set five years after the events of The Last of Us. The player traverses post-apocalyptic environments such as buildings and forests to advance the story. They can use firearms, improvised weapons, and stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. The game intermittently switches control between Ellie and Abby, and also briefly Joel in the opening sequence. The nimble nature of the player character introduces platforming elements, allowing the player to jump and climb to traverse environments and gain advantages during combat. Read less

Just platinumed The Last of Us Part 2. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone (finding all the collectibles, I mean) but I suppose that won't deter anyone as compulsive as me in the first place...

The game that never ends.

Doesn't help that I'm playing on survivor, but I've been playing all night every night for a week trying to get through this one!

I do hope next gen's triple A games run do a 180 and halve their average playtimes. The death of triple A and a move to a double A model all …

I do hope next gen's triple A games run do a 180 and halve their average playtimes. The death of triple A and a move to a double A model all round would be great for everyone.

On the plus side, enjoying the latter half vastly more.

A trend I noticed on the reviews for this game, even the most positive ones, is that the way the 'message' of the story is delivered is not exactly 'great'. It seems like the way the games keeps insisting in saying 'violence is bad' while makes us be as violent as possible is not the best way to make us think about that. (not my words).

I wrote an article (in spanish) about the question "can a game criticize its own violence?" and analyze the way other games, like Hotline Miami and Spec-Ops: The Line try to do the same, not always with great results.

What do you think about that?

The discussions about The last of us Part II ratings brings to mind one question:

- What are we rating, really, when we rate a game?

(sites may have rating guides, rules, etc., but users may not necessarily follow them, so the question is about what people actually do)

About 6 hours, the game is fantastic. I love all the missable scenes where you just learn something about the characters and the world. Also, there are alot of awesome details in this game. About 6 hours, the game is fantastic. I love all the missable scenes where you just learn something about the characters and the world. Also, there are alot of awesome details in this game. I would say that there are some bad running animations here and there but that is hardly much of a nitpick. Hopefully the game will get patched up some more to fix these. It just takes you out of the immersion. Also, some the faces aren't the greatest. But I guess nothing is perfect and considering how all out they went with so much of the rest of the game. I guess I understand. Would actually love to see this running on PC or on the PS5.

There's a missable part where Ellie breaks into a cover of Take on Me and damn it is fine👌. Also finally a use of the PS4 touchpad which isn't aggravating

Just finished the intro, so far it's just as great as the first one but even more beautiful.
