The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game set five years after the events of The Last of Us. The player traverses post-apocalyptic environments such as buildings and forests to advance the story. They can use firearms, improvised weapons, and stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. The game intermittently switches control between Ellie and Abby, and also briefly Joel in the opening sequence. The nimble nature of the player character introduces platforming elements, allowing the player to jump and climb to traverse environments and gain advantages during combat. Read less

The worst part about the game so far (aside from the DMCA flagging and crunch) is how Ellie kills the last PS Vita owner as it portrays how much Sony hates the PS Vita. (Footage is from State of Play)

As a massive massive TLOU fan, watching The Last of Us 2 videos now didn't inspire anything inside me but disappointment. 'We want to make you feel bad killing enemies and dogs by having them name the dead and have death-whines.'

One, it just sounds like a psychopath simulator. Two, then have the player kill a dozen enemies in the entire game rather than making them disposable fun-generators! BUT, YOU CAN'T - because it's JUST a shooter for which you're forcing the narrative to take all the strain of its tired violence mechanics.

I don't wish to dispose of entire genres of games, but can we at least resist strapping a paper mask of the Mona Lisa on Doom and calling it something else? The emperor has no clothes.

I have no doubt it's going to be great to play with its Uncharted 4 levels and the story will be a merciless heart-stirrer, but this issue really hampers any potential it and the rest of gaming has for storytelling. It's the difference between needing to play the game to experience the story and just being able to watch the cinematics.

E3 Gameplay trailer of TLOU II showed amazing improvement in graphics and gameplay. Even the environment has improved, the encounter looked very realistic.
