This has allowed me play board games with friends and family over the past year, so I guess I ought to consider it one of my Great Games of 2020. It's definitely not as great as actually playing board games with friends and family IRL, but it's probably as close to the "next best thing" that we're ever going to get. It's a bit clunky and cumbersome, but it works. I recommend sticking to simpler games if you can. (If it takes five minutes for someone's turn at a game IRL, it might take them ten minutes to go through the same process via this game's interface.)

also modding a little of this and that. i'm finding that this is an environment that tends to get the creativity going. IF you want to put the time in, you can get pretty creative with what you do with your games in TTS.... I tweaked these HUD bars/character portraits that are part of a few games (including gloomhaven) and i found the flame effect generator with some dungeon master tools meant for RPGs like dungeons and dragons. I also have a 'modelling table' full of various models and stuff i've 'stolen' from different places when i see it (yes, you can do that in game just right click an public game and 'save object') and i might play around and learn how to do things with them in blender at some point. enter image description here

currently i'm trying to get a feel for how the VR controls work in it. It seems like a really good thing to play but just like the regular controls, gotta bit of a learning curve here.

this thing has become a time suck of a game as i find more and more things to play with it and got some of my friends to get it to play with. What are some of the better games people like? You look hard enough you can find pretty much anything it seems. What drew me to it though …

You look hard enough you can find pretty much anything it seems. What drew me to it though was the 40K universe and the cool stuff I saw people making for it.

our faves:
Quacks of Quentinburg
Village
Dominion

I just wanted to give this game a little boost because if you're looking for some way to stay social and play games while trapped inside for the quarantine, this game is awesome. And hopefully, if you enjoy it now, you'll find yourself coming back to it over and over again.

Been playing more board games on TTS again and trying to meet more board gamers. Have I mentioned here how awesome Tabletop Simulator is? Honestly, even if I have, everyone should know, so... if you like board games (hell, even if you don't, you should look into it, there's a lot of different stuff out there, and tabletop gaming is …

Honestly, even if I have, everyone should know, so... if you like board games (hell, even if you don't, you should look into it, there's a lot of different stuff out there, and tabletop gaming is a massively varied and engaging medium), look into Tabletop Simulator.

While I think it's kind of cheating to say so, it's my favourite game ever (given it's actually just a physics sandbox that allows you to play like 90% of all the board games ever published). I've put over 2,000 hours into it and it's the only thing in my Steam library I always come back to.

Anyone know how DLC works in this? like if you have a friend who has ALL the DLC, can you just play with them if you both have the TTS base game? Or do you both have to have a DLC of every game?
