Remaster of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

Ostin Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD:n vahingossa.
Yllätyin aluksi, kuinka hauskaa pelin pelaaminen on. Jollain oudolla tavalla vähän kuitenkin tekee mieli.

CONS
I skipped all the classic GameCube Super Monkey Ball games so when I saw they had one for the Xbox One I got it out of the library to see what I missed. At the game's heart it is a fun platformer and great for kids, but as the levels progress it gets extremely difficult and stops being fun unless you are a glutton for punishment. The camera makes it a lot harder. I ended up beating every level but the last 3 worlds are close to torture. I'm not sure if previous entries are as tough as this one is, but the difficulty made me want to skip the extras like time trial mode and trying to replay the levels to get better scores.
First time playing a Super Monkey Ball game and hot damn the camera movement is motion sickness hell.
I've been playing a game that has a mini-game inspired by Super Monkey Ball except you don't manipulate or tilt the world, you instead control the ball itself and navigate the world as the ball. Thought I'd try out the OG, but I'm having big regrets. Shame because I love the concept! How anyone manages not to feel sick whilst playing is beyond me, and I'm someone who's played some pretty intense VR games!
So I bought Banana Blitz HD over the weekend because my son saw the game and seemed excited to try it. We played it quite a bit and he does love it, but man, it makes me think I should have just broke out the Gamecube and played the first game. It is SO MUCH BETTER in every way (at least based on my memory). Single player is better. Multiplayer is a TON better. I miss that original Monkey Targets. Why the heck didn't they HD remake that one?
Then something really funny happened. I realized that this wasn't the first time I had this opinion. I actually reviewed this game for PGC/NWR way back in the day... almost 13 years ago exactly. So weird. Why did I buy this game again? (Here's the review for laughs: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/review/12464/super-monkey-ball-banana-blitz-wii
Those were some of the most frustrating boss fights I've played in a game for a while. The final boss was just painful. One little tap and you just go flying off the map. Having no control of the camera didn't help. Overall though, apart from the boss fights, the game was just alright. Last three worlds were just annoying to play
