Finished my second playthrough of this game. Goddamn this is much more fun than I remember. The story is a bit meh for me, nothing special but the gameplay and the exploration is definitely the highlight of the game, even better than Dishonored series. The freedom given to the player on how to approach every situation is refreshing. My only gripe with the game is the enemy design is kinda boring and the game is really easy, even on Nightmare difficulty (although thats probably on me because I abuse the hell out of the Gloo gun and craft a fuck ton of Neuromods).
Hopefully Arkane will deliver this level of quality again and improve it further in the upcoming Deathloop.

Prey (2017) has a seriously fantastic soundtrack. Most of it is done by Mick Gordon, who you may know from Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal. The Prey soundtrack is the opposite of the Doom games, though. The only problem is that Prey can get seriously scary, and some tracks are intense, almost to anxiety-inducing levels. I have stripped those tracks out of this Spotify playlist for your listening enjoyment. Here is a playlist, "Prey But Not Scary" :https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6kczlrDxNNv3NFf0rkIn7N?si=-PC5YtGoQgeVuj1AmP-8Rg

Finally decided to give Prey a chance. Of course it's got everything I like in a going-through-people's-stuff game.

I'm nearing the end I can feel it but I'm starting to get a little burned out despite taking extended breaks from the game. The last time I sat down and played about 3-4 new objectives popped up and all I could do was groan. My in-game timer says I'm on 40 hours so for a small game (definitely not on the size of open-worlds) this feels like quite a lot, particularly because objectives see you traversing the same areas again and again.
I think the next time I sit down and play I'll make a beeline to finish the game so I can consider it done and then come back to it at a later date where I might do an alien-skill only run.

Haven't really been making many statuses about this game but I've been playing it quite often over the last two weeks. I'm guessing I'm about three quarters through the game. The enemies are starting to become much more difficult to deal with.

I'm loving the puzzles and different approaches you can take to situations. I decided to play without any alien skill points just to keep security off my back but to also possibly leave the potential for another playthrough with strictly alien mods to heighten replay-ability.
One thing I love about this game is that it's quite similar to Bioshock and Dead Space, two series I love immensely.

Back playing this. Absolute joy. Reminds me of when I first played Bioshock. I can tell I'm going to enjoy this one.

Prey - First Impressions
I finished trying out the new Prey and it seems good! It's more of that System Shock design in terms of open levels with multiple routes and player choice just a lot more slower paced. The bigger focus on stealth and keeping out of engagements doesn't sit right with me which is really my only complaint. …

I finished trying out the new Prey and it seems good! It's more of that System Shock design in terms of open levels with multiple routes and player choice just a lot more slower paced. The bigger focus on stealth and keeping out of engagements doesn't sit right with me which is really my only complaint. The first few levels i played (I played up till the Propulsion get) were well designed though, same for the mimics which is a really easy way to fabricate SS1's thrillride of instant scares. I like it. The story also seems good, this really interesting mix of memory and choice has a strong undercurrent and I like the bits of worldbuilding I could find strewn around the different rooms.
Won't finish it for a while but I look forward to getting back to it!
