Finally beat this game! That final Battle Royale (4-2) is a lot tougher than you think!
I went in with a Dialga that I taught Dragon Claw and Protect. Basic strategy is to Protect, then dive in mashing Dragon Claw. Protect only lasts 3 seconds, so it's important to keep track of how long it's up because once you get to Dragon Claw-ing, it's next to impossible to see when the protective aura around you wears off, and suddenly you get hit by a stray attack! I was able to last most of the first round (4-1) until I lost the first of my 3 lives, so I was able to finish it with my Snappy Garchomp (also Dragon Claw and Protect) at full health. Same strategy for Garchomp, but its Snappy Special Trait means you can mow through enemies much faster.
Second round (4-2) is the nasty one. You want to go for the Drifblims first because their Ominous Winds have a deceptively wide range. Then the Raichus, because their Thunders can take you out in one hit and the tells for where they will land are hard to see in the chaos. Go after the Machamps next, because their Cross Chops can hit you from basically halfway across the ring! Once the dragon trio comes out, you wanna take out the Nidokings so their Earth Powers don't take you by surprise, and then focus as best you can on one dragon (I go for Palkia because its Spacial Rend has a very wide range). Once a dragon goes down, the real final boss, Mewtwo comes out, and this is where it gets real tricky. Mewtwo does not get stunned by any attack, and it has a star-shaped psychic energy attack that covers half the ring. My Garchomp went down here, so this is where I brought out my ace in the hole: Moltres. Same strategy as Dialga and Garchomp, but instead of Dragon Claw, Moltres has Sky Attack, which you can mash so you can keep drilling massive damage into an enemy until it's down. Best part is that it can often flinch, which Mewtwo is not immune to, so if you're relentless with it, you can take Mewtwo down before it can even move! But if it doesn't end up flinching, make sure you use Protect right before he uses his "star" move, because it's next to impossible to dodge and it will knock you out in one hit.
