Changed my review to 2 stars because the game has the same technical issues from 2 years ago, but also much less features in terms viewing stats. It has some new PvE matches, which I have no interest in, but are apparently a crazy grind fest, and even the hardest missions allows you to spend real life dollars to get additional lives... Sad how this game turned out. It has a fun premise and some fun mechanics, but the technical state alone (floaty, unresponsive and laggy combat) makes it not fun to play.

I'm having fun with this but something feels off, like in terms of movement in how characters are so fast in the air, and with how attack interactions work? I don't know how attack priority is determined still. There is still also blips where characters will be moved or died, which I suppose is supposed to somehow be an improvement over lagging but it doesn't seem like it.

Otherwise, I'm pretty impressed and have enjoyed a lot of the design decisions so far including giving cooldowns to specials to reduce spamming but also giving characters an alternate move to use while the original move is on cool down. I think the design team also clearly has the necessary creative talent for crafting movesets that feel true to a character while also being fun and interesting to see in a platform fighter.

I hated the movement when i first played it but after a while you get used to it. Super fun, but definitely not the best fighting game as everybody's saying.
