Something I really like about this game, besides the change in combat pacing (I kinda like dynasty warriors games tbh), is that I can enjoy this game in short bursts instead of needing to put in like 3 hours per session, something that happened quite a lot to me in BOTW.

Good lord this is fun! It’s amazing how much I am enjoying this when I really didn’t like what i played of the previous Hyrule Warriors.

Look what just arrived.

I guess I shouldn’t have been as concerned as I was, lol. Besides, not receiving it Friday meant I had time to finish The Pathless over the weekend.

Still absolutely no word on where my copy is at the moment. Since I haven’t been able to get a response out of EB I don’t know if it’s on its way. I also cannot cancel my order and order it from a different store because I have no idea if they’ll still charge me. It’s particularly odd because I …

I also cannot cancel my order and order it from a different store because I have no idea if they’ll still charge me. It’s particularly odd because I got my copy of Miles Morales from EB last week, a preorder that was delivered on release day.

I tried the demo, and was very surprised to find myself having decent fun with it! I simply could not get with the level layouts though. I got lost multiple times on the third? mission (´д`)

I've never really gotten into Warriors games, so I'm not sure if I will get sick of the gameplay later or not... Think I'm …

What a delight. So far it's better than expected! Has so many details of the universe of BOTW - characters and even the collectables, that I wasn't sure would appear.

I can't wait for all the new perspectives of the story, but I will take my time beating it.

It seems very likely I am not getting my copy today. I haven't been charged and have no shipment notifications. I pre-ordered this quite some time ago, so it looks like EB may have been too busy with Xbox Series X sales to complete their pre-order shipments today.

Hmm, tried to log into my account at EB Games to check on delivery info for Age of Calamity and I am now in line to buy an Xbox Series X. I don't plan to buy it at the moment, but you currently cannot access any part of the site while this Xbox event is happening. Wonderful.

Started the demo today to unwind from work. Was nice; a bit confusing at times but not difficult or discouraging. Need to play more to decide if I like this kind of a game. Also, did not know of the 2-player mode, got to try that too!

Ok, this demo is quite fun so far. I guess maybe I want to play a lot more of this.

Tried this demo to check if I want to play Breath of Wild. Might not be an accurate way of assessing that as they are different types of games but at least the aesthetics and the world are the same. Tried this demo to check if I want to play Breath of Wild. Might not be an accurate way of assessing that as they are different types of games but at least the aesthetics and the world are the same. I thought I would not enjoy it as I wasn't really big on Zelda (played Ocarina of Time, got headaches and did not excite me much) and I imagined I would feel alienated by the lore. Enjoying it so far though so I think I might go on and play the full game.

I'm really on the fence about this one. On the one hand, I like the idea of backstory plus getting to play as the various guardians. On the other, I tried Hyrule Warriors for the second time, yesterday, and I do not enjoy the game play. It feels like it has no nuance, just a lot of spamming one or two buttons and running from one place to another while spamming those buttons. I won't disparage anyone who enjoys the game play, as I am sure I like things that others do not. But personally I worry that if the core mechanics of the game are not fun for me, should I really rely on the setting and story to carry me through mechanics I don't enjoy? That feels like placing unfair expectations on a game that just happens to be of a genre I dislike.

But damn, it's already got 5 stars on Grouvee so maybe it's fantastic and I shouldn't worry so much ;-)
