A classic childhood game

Replayed this game I loved as a kid and it's just so nostalgic!!! All the memories came flooding back to me, and I am obsessed with Humongous Entertainment games once again lol. I might have to start playing all the old games again because this one playthrough was just too much fun!

Finally playing Fatty Bear made my daughter remember how much fun she had with the Putt-Putt series, so she wanted more games in the same genre. Here comes Pajama Sam! This is from the second half of the Nineties and it's clearly spawned from the experience the developers had on the first bunch of Putt-Putt games. While still being a kids game, it is quite complex in how it's structured and it uses randomization to offer different puzzles on consecutive playthroughs, like in later Putt-Putt games. The graphics are lovely and by 1996 standards are basically "like a cartoon", and the plot is quite fun. Compared to Putt-Putt, this is more overtly focused on teaching stuff to the kid but in a smart way. The angle it uses to talk about darkness as a not scary thing is really adorable. And of course there's the usual huge amount of interactions just for fun. A lovely game. My daughter adored it and immediately went on with episode 2.

Hell ya, I played Pajama Sam. This is a great game for kids, it knows they're so smart but also doesn't condescend to make them do math problems or learn a new language when it doesn't have to. Time and place, people!

Inviting no judgment, I would like to say I always thought Pajama Sam was cute when I was …
