That was my first VR-game with such mechanics and I can only compare it to some non-VR adventure games, so apparently this game is more novelty for me than to somebody.
I Expect you to die is pretty short, but interesting VR-game where you play as a James Bond-like spy and in each of several missions (~7) you need to perform certain actions (with a little bit of variability) to achieve a goal and to constantly prevent your own death from a numerous traps in a process. All you need is a little ingenuity using instruments and devices and to use your savvy to solve puzzles and avoid those traps. Graphics are quite simple, but pleasing and definitely good enough for not very serious and sometimes even humorous game. And with 60s-70s spy-movies art-style overall visuals are very good. There were a couple of moments when it was too unobvious for me of what should I do or push, but it wasn't crucial and mostly everything in this game is logical and thought-out. And it might be worth noting that this game is designed for a player to sit in a chair and move only the upper half of a body. Therefore:
- I suppose that people who suffer from vertigo and nausea problems with games where character body is moving in a virtual space shouldn't have these issues. But I can't assure that because I don't experience such problems. I remember just two moments when you are being lifted for around 2 seconds each - maybe that can be a nuisance for somebody.
- It's ok if you don't have a lot of space in a room - just be sure that you can't hit anything in front of you when you sit.
