What could go wrong? As the new security guard working nights, your job is to monitor cameras and make sure nothing goes wrong after-hours. The previous guard has complained about the characters trying to get into the office (he has since been moved to day-shift). So to make your job easier, you've been provided with your very own empty Freddy Fazbear head, which should fool the animatronic characters into leaving you alone if they should accidentally enter your office. As always, Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for death or dismemberment. Less

Great addition to the series.
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

FNAF 2 is not an improvement to the last game, it’s instead a continuation of adding more gameplay gimmicks and so much more lore and so many animatronics! You're still in your office hiding and trying to survive, however there is no doors you have to scare them away with your flashlight and wind up that music box. The gameplay is challenging and the atmosphere makes the game terrifying, especially when you get these random lore minigames when you die, they are questionable and creepy. However as always the jump scares can get annoying especially when you're playing the custom night mode that now has more challenges to beat instead of just changing the difficulty which is neat.

Fun But Cluttered

So after the success of the first Five Nights at Freddy's, Scott Cawthon quickly began work on a sequel. And I mean quick. 3 months to be exact.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a prequel to the first game. Taking place in 1987, you play as a security guard working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Like the first game. 7 Nights, 12-6 AM.

This game plays a lot different than the first. Rather than dealing with 4 (5 if you want to count Golden Freddy) animatronics, you are dealing with 11. There are no doors. You survive each night by using lights, winding the music box, and wearing a Freddy Mask.

Like the first game each animatronic works weirdly. The Toy Animatronics and Withered Animatronics are warded off by wearing the Freddy Mask, Balloon Boy will disable your flashlight but wearing the mask will get rid of it. Foxy is handled by flickering the flashlight. The Puppet is handled by winding the music box.

What makes this game a step up from the first is how intense it is. It is a very overwhelming experience You are constantly being attacked left right and center. Where the first game is …

What makes this game a step up from the first is how intense it is. It is a very overwhelming experience You are constantly being attacked left right and center. Where the first game is about resource management. This game is about multitasking.

It's a fun experience but there is just too much to really have a fun experience. You, Will, Die a lot. Fortunately, dying can earn you lore via death minigames that explain events that happened that explain why the animatronics are what they are. I really like that. I think it's a clever way to make death a little less punishing.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a fun experience that is very replayable. It may be cluttered, but there is a charm in it that I like

A perfect sequel to the first game. It has an entirely new look and some even more terrifying animatronics. It keeps the same general premise of the first game but amped up to 10. There are way more animatronics which all have different ways of attacking you. You don't have to worry about power management anymore but more have to worry about all the different entrances to your office. Overall, a great game.
