Siactro's games kind of fascinate me. They're all pretty short, they all have these head-scratching moments unless you've played a few of their games and understand the in-jokes, and they all rely heavily on nostalgia for the 32- and 64-bit era to forgive some simplistic or clunky gameplay. Yet there's also a really earnest joy about them? They feel like they were fun to make, almost improvisational, and enough of that comes through while playing that I catch myself smiling the whole time.
Macbat 64 is probably my favorite so far, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it's easier than Toree 3-D and 2. Maybe I get more of the in-jokes now. Or maybe the world's stressful enough that I just wanted a short, easy 64-bit adventure to go on.
