A remake of a classic JRPG that shows it's age

The second remake of Lunar Silver Star is the first instance of the game that I played. While no doubt it was a better story in the early 90s when it came out, the story in Lunar now is very cliche and generic, as are the characters. Young boy wants to be a hero and goes on an adventure to do as much, it plays out well and is enjoyable but is pretty bare bones. I enjoyed the banter between the characters when it would occur, but that's about it. To me, the biggest lost opportunity is the game not expanding on the world-building and explaining how the world got to where it is and more of the backstory of some of the other characters.
Gameplay-wise this version of the game is very easy and pretty standard. It's enjoyable to smash through easy JRPGs like this personally, but those looking for a challenge should look elsewhere.
Visually this version of the game looks pretty good with a lot of pretty locales and lots of vibrant colors. The remastered music is very charming and a joy to listen to usually.
