Rainbow Six Siege (2015)

I'd always been curious to play this and apparently 10 years after it's release it's now rebranded as Siege X. Much of it looks comparable in terms of menus, progression unlockables to that of CS2. However, I've seen videos of it played and heard people rave about it so know how different it is.

The game is a neat idea. I also like that you have 'class distinctions' with customizable options rather than just blocks of purchasable equipment. (combat roles are great) the trouble is boy this is a lot to learn all at once. After a few training missions I could tell that this was going to be pretty much impossible for me to amount to anything in a casual match, and i was right. Some really interesting map design in this game it seems, built around competitive, spacing, etc.

I can see how people get sucked into this but I'm not at a point where I'd put the time in to learn all the complexities of this. I'll stick to what I know the next time I need to scratch the itch! The vast bulk of online shooters aren't for me these days, but I did want to at least finally check it out since I had access to it through a streaming platform. (as someone who has played the old Rainbox Six games it's really amusing to see where this series has gone, it's just as hardcore but in a very different context)

I don't know if this might be of interest to you, but Ubisoft recently announced a new character from Colombia for Rainbow Six Siege. And, obsessed as I am with representation on media (and permanently upset about how colombians are always shown as narcos and criminals), I requested an interview to talk about what inspired the character and how they avoided the stereotypes.

Debo admitir que el juego en un principio poco o nada de atención me llamaba, sin embargo para finales del año pasado un grupo de amigos me lo recomendaron, por fortuna obtuve una copia y tuve acceso a la experiencia shooter táctica y competitiva mas excelente desde su lanzamiento , no es perfecta (eso lo sabemos todos) pero si hay algo que este juego permite es la experiencia con amigos o incluso con desconocidos, sus modos de juego son exigentes (recomiendo mucho realizar el tutorial) pero con lo anterior mencionado la experiencia tiende a ser mas cómoda para el jugador.

Valga aclarar que el juego en su versión Starter exige bastantes horas de juego para desbloquear a sus operadores (empiezas con dos Agentes SAS o los que te asigne el juego posterior al tutorial), sin embargo cada operador es un mundo nuevo que explorar cada habilidad que tiene merece ser practicada, son formidables.

Para finalizar recomiendo totalmente este juego, las horas de juego que le darás serán al comienzo serán ligeramente difíciles dado a que el juego tiene una mezcla híbrida entre el shoooter genérico y otros títulos como su competencia directa Counter Strike, pero una vez le cojas el tiro al juego lo disfrutaras.

The level progression is that of a F2P game, which is annoying as shit considering the game only really opens up -- in the sense that it allows you to pick game modes -- once you hit ranked at level 2835829472 or whatever it is. It lacks content like almost all multiplayer-only games, but unlike something like Battlefront it actually does something neat with the genre. It's one of the more tactical experiences in recent years and does have a certain intensity about it. The Situations are a mediocre attempt at an offline mode but Terrorist Hunt and other online play is where it's at. I also like the way the guns feel, the environmental destruction and the options you have to do what you gotta do. One complaint is that almost all games end up being death matches because it's just easier to kill everybody than actually complete the objective.
