Pajama Sam 3 is the first case of my daughter playing a new game by herself without needing my help (I was busy cooking and she didn't want to wait). She doesn't need me anymore, everything's over, goodbye cruel world, I wanna disappear.

Anyway, we also played together, because we like to do that (and also she was stuck on a couple of puzzles). And it's another beauty of a game. The "learning" part is not focused anymore on fears, it switches onto healthy eating, but it keeps the light touch, the fun writing and the ability to not feel as basic edutainment. Also, it manages to use the food theme as an allegory for diversity, which is really cool. Structurally it's pretty similar to the first two games, with a sprawling map and randomized puzzles, but with a couple of new things I noticed. It's harder to find locations with almost nothing to do because the randomized puzzles are somewhere else. Also, there's a new tool that let's you skip the randomization and choose the puzzles. It's cool because (1) it allows you to try all the puzzles without hoping the randomization helps you and (2) it lets you replay the parts you loved, which is quite important for little kids that love the familiarity of re-living the same experience again and again.

Overall, another very good game.
