The original exclusive release for the Ouya in 2013. It was later ported to Steam and the PlayStation 4, in March 2014, as the updated version Towerfall Ascension. I picked this one up last year for the sake of having another couch VS party game to play with friends. Everyone kind of just bounced off of this one though. I would go back to it on my own from time to time to see if I could enjoy it more on my own, but it's really not meant for single-player. The co-op mode isn't bad, but even then my friend and I just got bored after a few levels each time. I guess this is a case where I can see how many people can get addicted to it and have a ball for hours on end, but it didn't win me over. I think the biggest issue might be how you can (and will!) die so quickly, so suddenly, and so constantly, that it feels rather stressful most of the time.

Archery Joust

This took me way back. Joust was one of the first games i ever played. TowerFall is basically Joust with a bow instead of a bird. Or Mario Bros. with a bow instead of a brother. You get the idea. It's fairly well made, though it seems kinda basic compared to the wonderfully weird Straima.

Had friends over last night and played MANY rounds of Towerfall. This game is a local multiplayer GEM! It's awesome that it's coming to Switch - don't sleep on it if you haven't played it yet. It even has pretty transparent "catch-up" mechanics for players who aren't doing as well.
