Preliminary: Yesss the Fat Man for music. Took me a wihle to get the music to work right tho. Very robust help file though. Apogee always came through for that. I usually just gloss over these early DOS platformers but this one is playing well so far and keeping my interest. Not an amazingly unique concept, but good Look, good controls, and good level design. Hopefully the "collect them all" mechanic doesn't get in the way.

I don't love the way the enemies spawn, it discourages the relatively fast pace otherwise, but cmon look at this background look like a properly playtest/playthrough is in order enter image description here

Day 1

I was hoping the 2nd level would have a new tune. This tune isn't great, it's not bad either, plus it's Fat Man! My guy from Humongous Entertainment! I like that at the end of each level you're told how much of the Treasure you found (I had 80 something percent tho I thought I explored everywhere. Secrets I assume. Good for replayability!) and can get a time bonus: no required time limit, but bonus from it. My kind of balance.

Welp I definitely foudn the Treasure Room in this 2nd level (I like how the Wizards give meaningful hints). But definitely noticing more and more the jerkiness to getting up on to platforms and general slipperiness. And the way the enemies spawn continuing to drag it down. And the way it scrolls/jerks to scroll. I also have now run into what I was worreid about: reached a dead end and presumably meant to be the last Crystal, but it's only my 4th woopsie. I thought I thoroughly explored this level and definitely got all the treasures, let alone the Crystals. Hmmm. Wait did I accidentally shoot a Crystal and that means it's no more? lol. Omg nope I just missed a very obvious path near the beginning. But hey, I got 218/218 Treasure that time!

Welll, the next level the switches/puzzle aspects started to drag it down and the meh controls were getting highlighted more and more due to that. Still, my favorite of the early DOS platformers so far!
