The game takes place during World War 1. Choose one of the five allied fighter pilots to do battle against the Central Powers. The game consists of 20 missions with the final one culminating with a battle between the player and "The Red Baron". Missions are basically the same as in its' predecessor Wings. There are bombing missions where you have to take out targets that were circled in an aerial photograph, strafing runs where you get to blast anything that you fancy blasting with an unlimited supply of ammo, and of course the main part: dogfights in the sky. I own the cartridge and played it as a kid in the 90s. I am not sure if I beat it back then though I do recall it being very difficult. Beat the entire game on emulator and my memories of difficulty are correct. The lack of any kind of crosshair or similar to help with aiming makes the entire game annoying. Dogfighting is the best part of the game, though the bullets have so much spread and fire at such a low rate that hitting anything is more often about luck. Strafing and bombing missions suck because they are so easy to fail simply by not being lined up properly and missing targets.
