- Better map design. The maps in both the real world and net world are more diverse and interesting. It's much easier to navigate and they have names. This game still doesn't have a map, but I won't list it as a negative this time just because I didn't find navigation as difficult.

- I like the introduction of style changing. It offers more customization to change the way you play. I do wish you could hold more than 2 at once and that they weren't so tedious to obtain and level up, but I say it's a net positive.
- Battles are more diverse. More varied enemies and battlefields. The first game only had a default grid, while this game has battlefields with special effects like magnetism, cracks, and lava on the floor. It makes the random battles feel a bit less monotonous, but it does make it harder when there's a combo that is really difficult to deal with.
- There seems to be more of an emphasis on chip combos. Not in the advanced program way, but in how they interact with each other (e.g., rock cube + punch)
- Fast travel in the Net world is much more convenient with the teleporters
- A lot of this game is padding. The second last chapter is particularly bad with this. Even if you don't include the optional request board, the main story feels like aimlessly walking back and forth doing fetch quests. It gets tedious and the game is worse for it.
- Not a big fan of the story. One aspect is how lax this world seems with criminals, especially since these criminals are literally trying to destroy the world and have committed murder.
- I thought that the enemy's would start doing reasonable damage since health doesn't regen anymore, but that really isn't the case. A lot of enemy's still hit super hard and there aren't a lot of invincibility frames given to you. It really sucks when you're wandering around the net and you lose progress because you randomly encounter a boss ghost you weren't prepared for.
Better than the first, but I still have issues with it. The padding feels so egregious, I think if the game were half its actual length, I'd consider it a much better game.
