Ah yeah, the remastered version is great. It looks great, and the controls feel great. They did a great job. Can you tell I think it's great?

I had planned to replay this on Wii U ages ago when I bought the Trilogy, but sadly never got around to it. I guess it worked out for the best because the new dual analogue stick controls are definitely my favourite control scheme. I loved this game on GameCube but I'm not nostalgic for the old control scheme, and the motion controls were absolutely a no go when I booted up the Wii Trilogy. Here's hoping they can port the other two games in the trilogy with updated controls schemes as well.

Why, for the Artifact pf the Wild, should there be a way to the Sunchamber blocked in the Sunchamber access, and when I go through a long ass way, through the Main Plaza, through the Sun Tower, get the artifact, NOW the doorway is unlocked?

I was a bit too young for this one at release. Me months ago: Prime is my least favorite Metroid game I've played so far. Idk if I'll ever replay it compared to the 2D games.
Me buying Prime Remastered: Goddammit. I love Metroid.

I really hope that you don't have to beam switch to doors you already went to. I hope the pace of the boss fights is much faster and doesn't involve too much waiting. I hope beam switching is much snappier. I just hope this remaster makes me come around to it like I did with Super Metroid.

Starting a new series playing through Metroid Prime on my YouTube channel for kids. My kids have loved watching me play the Prime series. This is just Part 1, so I'd love to get feedback on this or my other series. Enjoy!

Game is good, but man, do the bosses really suck. They are awful, tedious, and wear out their welcome. Every Metroid game that I have played (Zero Mission, AM2R, Super, Fusion, and Dread) is amazing, but Prime is just good. Lore is simple, but good. Not my favorite story in the series, that still goes to Fusion easily. Combat is …

Every Metroid game that I have played (Zero Mission, AM2R, Super, Fusion, and Dread) is amazing, but Prime is just good. Lore is simple, but good. Not my favorite story in the series, that still goes to Fusion easily. Combat is fine, but feels nowhere near as satisfying as Super and Fusion and become less fun as the game progresses since combat becomes moreso a matter of "square-peg, square hole", but it doesn't feel snappy to switch beams, even with Primehack controls. The transition to 3D is faithful. The graphics are top of the line for 2002. 60 FPS too. The cramped spaces make for a well optimized game and 3D spaces feel claustrophobic in a way. This is such an immersive game; on top of the claustrophobic rooms, the menus are all diegetic, and it is such a visually detailed game. If the 3D map wasn't this convoluted in how to get to areas without zooming in and out of the level and world maps, I would've liked backtracking a lot more. I just don't think the flow is there for Prime. Since weapon exclusive doors don't act like missile doors of previous games where they no longer require certain weapons once you already open them for the first time. I always have to stop, switch, and shoot. So far in my Metroid journey, not bad, not mid, but my least favorite Metroid game that I have played.

I can't speak to how good it is, but I recommend you download this demo NOW - before Nintendo's lawyers get on it.
Unfortunately, the media propagation that brings this to our attention will also likely hasten the cease and desist!

I'm not sure how much of this game I'd played before, but it felt really good to sit down and work my way through it. This still holds up with really immersive aesthetics, an engaging exploration loop, pretty fun boss fights, and a usually great pace.

There were a few times in the middle where I sort of just wandered around waiting for the hint system to tell me where to go next, but other than that I really enjoyed it!
