It was thus the first solitary version in the core series of Pokémon games. Various fixes in the game include a graphics and sound upgrade, as well as the removal of several known glitches that had been found in the original pair. Outside of Japan, its graphics, game engine and script formed the basis of Pokémon Red and Blue, while the wild Pokémon and game-exclusive Pokémon lists were changed to match Red and Green.

I liked this video as a kid. I felt a lot of disconnect with the new Pokemon games. I think a lot of that was fueled from not being able to own any Pokemon games after Gold/Silver so I felt left behind and all the new Pokemon and mechanics were overwhelming and I couldn't relate to any of it.

The game that started it all. It really hasn't aged well but somehow it is still fun to go back and just think that there were only 150 pokemon. SQUIRTLE SUPREMACY!! This is when pokemon designs were at its best. Its a bit clunky today but the magic is still there.

Started replaying this on my emulator handheld because I realized I don't think I ever beat it straight through. I was so young and I think I beat the elite four on my brother's save, but never played it all the way through.
I forgot how good the music is for a gameboy good, and it has a such a distinct visual aesthetic. Such a comfy little game.
I'm using the Blue 151 rom hack that lets you catch all the pokemon in the one game without trading but otherwise claims to be a vanilla experience. I'm not sure if I want to fill out the pokedex but it's nice to have the option.

I have now played 7 hour's and 20 mins of pokemon blue. Just about to tackle the s.s. Anne and then the 3rd gym leader falling is love with this game all over again this is my current team.

I started replaying pokemon blue yesterday 2 hours and 15 minutes in already and I must well spent. This game holds so many memories for me. I went for my favorite starter Pokemon Charmander and have just got my first badge.
