My kiddo is home sick today, happily playing Astro Bot.
Since its their first 3d platformer experience, its been tricky but the self confidence and capability is growing as fast as they are. <3
I'll miss days like this someday.

If Gitaroo Man isn't in this update, then I don't care. I want Gitaroo Man mentioned. I wanna see my guy U-1.

Finally beat this. Just such a joy to play.
Astro Bot's visits to the various worlds based on Sony's AAA games makes me want to play those games, obviously the intention. Though it is mostly the games from Sony I never completed (God of War, Horizon Forbidden West).

Platinum Trophy - 100% Completion
Now THAT is how games should be made!!!
As some studios continue to push the limits of mature content, Sony decided to push the limits of content created for All Audiences, and has set the bar for other production studios to reach for.

This is a game I can, and will, play again. This is a game that I can recommend to Anyone. This is a game that I want my kids play.
Thank you Sony, for making such an awesome game. Thank you for building on the "Demo" and creating a truly remarkable piece of art that exemplifies the Sony brand.

What an incredible delight to play this. Everything about this is upbeat, fun, and fantastic to see on screen. I find myself playing a few levels every morning before work. Even the hard levels have a rhythm to them that give them a short speed-run quality.

It also has one of the best quality of life features for a platformer. You can replay a level and once you have acquired whatever missing items you want, you can simply exit and still get credit.

Wow, what a joyful and easy-going experience. The early levels in particular seem low stakes in low difficulty, but it makes up for in terms of the feedback for your onscreen actions including the controller noises, the explosive enemy collisions, and character traversal. I wait for the day that Asobi adds a level with U-1 from Gitaroo Man into this game. For now, SAY GEX!

Is Astro Bot that good? Every time I see it I feel like I will get very bored playing it...

Minor mixed feelings about the game aside, I can't feel anything but excitement for Astro Bot's new Winter update:

The official PlayStation year end isn’t out yet, but I just saw my TrueTrophies year end annimation and, while not as bad as Xbox, it is pretty dismal. I barely touched my PS5. I still racked up more hours than I did on Xbox, thanks to FFVII Rebirth and Granblue Fantasy Relink, but otherwise I barely touched my PS5. I do have a few games I do want to play on PS5 in the near future, like Allan Wake 2, FFXVI and and handful of others. So maybe I’ll increase my PS5 gameplay time in 2025. I'm still in awe of how my gaming world got flipped upside down by the Steam Deck.
