Beat. Did about half the game at normal speed and the rest at slow. I was pretty sure the screen glitched because there was a green bar across the middle of the screen with just black space behind it where I could fly. It hid the stupid fuel cable and made it much more difficult to avoid projectiles because they were hidden by the green bar. Checking online that bar was supposed to be on the bottom of the screen and show score, lives, etc. Most gameplay was from behind the jet shooting at approaching enemies while avoiding enemy shots, similar to Sky Destroyer. It was somewhat difficult to hit things with your jet in the way and no crosshair. Every mission had a refuelling mini game that was about catching the cable with your jet, but it whipped around in the wind like mad sometimes. Usually I found it easy despite the graphics glitch making it significantly harder, but one mission took several state loads. Some of the bosses were large bombers that had to be shot from this same view, only instead of dragging a fuel cable they were dropping bullet hell projectiles. These fights were very difficult …

These fights were very difficult because the projectiles seemed random without any clear pattern. Some stages had vertical shoot em up sequences, which were the best aspect of the game. There were even a few unique bosses fought in that style. At the end of every mission was landing on a runway, which was just about staying in line and pressing up when over pavement. Ok game but could have been a lot better with more involved aiming and maneuvers. Maybe scrap the refueling and landing, or at least only do them once throughout the entire game. The weapon upgraded from double straight shot, to swirly, to triple, to triple swirly, but there was not a lot of performance difference between them. Mainly 3 shots killed stuff faster in the shoot em up parts, where enemies were already a bit spongy.
