An example is using quick time events to chase Mollaka during a level that is a recreation of the construction site chase at the beginning of the Casino Royale film. Less

This review is for the PlayStation 3 version

A solid but forgettable First / Third Person Shooter that covers the first two Craig films, and essentially plays like Modern Warfare or Black Ops, with quick-timed so called "takedowns", gadgets and weapons and everything else you'd expect from a James Bond title. You chase and fight bad guys, hack some things, collect some phones, drive some vehicles, woo some ladies..you know, agent stuff.

A few nice looking levels and some cinematic moments show flashes of ambition from the developers, but briefings and load screens are boring, with most areas being dull, repetitive and somewhat uninspired. Starting some levels will have you go "Nice!", and sometimes you get to an area that'll have you let out a deep sigh.

Not too bad of an effort for what it is, although we were used to Bond games being pretty darn good, at times, but I guess even MI6 can miss. I remember Online Multiplayer popping off and having a great community at the time, with maps and modes being pretty substantial. Other than that it does not enter any Hall of Fame.

Totally forgettable, but functional as an FPS game
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

This is a very short and basic FPS game which covers the story of the first two Bond movies with Daniel Craig. Mechanically it is kind of similar to another Activision's game Call of Duty, but adds a couple of unnecessary or annoying things like a hacking minigame, a cover mechanic (which adds a text tip to every goddamn wall informing you you can cover behind it) and an attempt at stealth. I'm not a fan of Bondiana, so I didn't care about the story or characters, but even despite that all of it was so bland and unexciting, the game seemed like the waste of the Bond license and the movie cast. Anyway, I love FPS games and Quantum of Solace was mostly fine mechanically, so I had a bit of fun beating the game on easy.

The Name's Craig... Daniel Craig
This review is for the PlayStation 3 version

Quantum of Solace is yet again another linear gaming experience. Put in the shoes of the new James Bond portrayed by Daniel Craig.

Thrown into movie inspired locations you relive many action packed moments that have a cinematic feel. Graphically speaking this game looks great and environments are very fast paced.

Though with its great visuals and integrated shooting mechanics, much of the game is guided and leads you in a straight line that isn't very challenging and enemy movements are extremely predictable and easily defeated, even on the hardest difficulties.

It's overall a fun ride and it's an easy game to get all trophies/achievements in one run, maybe two. Recommended if you're looking for some gunplay with action packed cinematic features.

I was surprised with how much fun I had playing this. It's very simple Linear FPS action but sometimes that's okay especially if it's a $10 5 hour game. It's not as interesting as other 007 games like the lack of Bond moments or secondary objectives are noticable.

XBOX 360/PS3/PC: First-person shooter with elements of third-person shooter. Sometimes you get a feeling that you play Call of Duty, but still fun to play.

Wii: Same game as HD versions but ported to Wii. Literally got the same treatment as Call of Duty games; movement, shooting mechanics etc. are the same.

PS2:Wow. Best port of this game (IMO best James Bond game on PS2). It's a surprise that this is a PS2 game. Even though the controls feel kind of awkward and weapon inaccuracy is irrating, it's a fun game.

NDS: Action game that is based solely on the gimmicky touch screen of DS. Sounds good but in reality it's bad
