I probably would've loved this game a decade or so ago. I really can't find any faults with it. And thinking about what to write in this review is making me want to reinstall it and spend some more time in it. It's funny, has a great sense of progression, the art is charming, the music is nice, the little radio shows are funny, the actual mechanics of the game are polished, etc. All good things!
... Okay yeah, I just talked myself into reinstalling it and plan on finishing it eventually. So far I've made it through the first 2 or 3 levels.
On the whole, Two Point Campus lets your most fantastical dreams come true. Whether that’s a campus of dysfunctional wizards or accomplished chefs, Two Point has learnt a lot from its prior endeavors and applied its knowledge to make what is one of the most attractive and witty simulation titles out there. Whether you’ve only the time to commit to Two Point Campus for a mere few hours or many months, you’re set for your own education on academic absurdity.
There are a few differences that makes this game stand out from Two Point Hospital. While essentially it is a very similar experience in its mechanics and gameplay, there are many welcome upgrades. Also, the year based gameplay where new students apply every year and old students progress to second and third years before graduating makes it very interesting. This mechanic creates a requirement for changes to the campus to accommodate the students new classes. This last change makes it slightly more unique than other similar simulators. But only slightly so.
On the downside, the year mechanic also makes this game even more automatic than the previous: if you finished the 3rd year of a course, your campus will have everything it needs to run any future years without any input from you. Even the events can be setup so that they automatically happen every year at the same time. There's always the possibility of creating a second or third course, but even then most of the game will be running on automatic after the third year.
At this point, I would say you should only buy it if you really enjoyed Two Point Hospital. It is a really a …

At this point, I would say you should only buy it if you really enjoyed Two Point Hospital. It is a really a fun game, but, just like Two Point Hospital at launch, it is in desperate need of content expansion. Whether through future patches or DLCs, I suspect this game will only be worth the price one year from now.
