It is also notable for being one of the first games to allow the player to shoot through glass. Its name derived from this graphical style, which was previously used in Virtua Fighter, Virtua Striker and Virtua Racing. Less

thrilling action game
This review is for the Sega Saturn version

it's hard to understand what this game is until you play it. you may think you've played it or you get what it's about. that's what i'd thought. but it's not at all like time crisis or house of the dead or mad dog mccree. virtua cop's closest neighbor is probably star fox 64, followed by virtua cop 2, and after that it's out in the boonies.

the more time you spend playing virtua cop, the better it gets. it is a game that respects you and wants to sharpen you. getting a virtua cop 1cc has been one of my life's great delights.

check it out. i played it with a mouse. it's fun with a mouse. i'm kind of curious what it's like with a standard controller but not curious enough to actually try it. i'd like to play it with a lightgun, but boy that's hard these days, isn't it.
