Evoland Legendary Edition is a compilation of: - Evoland. - Evoland II. Evoland is a journey through the history of action/adventure gaming, allowing you to unlock new technologies, gameplay systems and graphic upgrades as you progress through the game. Inspired by many cult series that have left their mark in the RPG video gaming culture, Evoland takes you from monochrome to full 3D graphics and from active time battles to real time boss fights, all with plenty of humor and references to many classic games. Inspired by many cult series that have left their mark in the RPG video gaming culture, Evoland takes you from monochrome to full 3D graphics and from active time battles to real time boss fights, all with plenty of humor and references to many classic games. Evoland 2 graphics style is changing as you travel through time and its gameplay evolves as you move along the storyline. It is also a real RPG at heart, with a deep scenario based on time travel: explore different eras and change the history of the world. But are you sure that the consequences will not make things worse? Full of humor and references to classic games, the Evoland series brings a truly epic and extraordinary adventure, unlike anything you’ve ever played before! Less

This review is for the Nintendo Switch version

Evoland Legendary Edition comprises both Evoland and Evoland 2.

The first one is more of a proof of concept, it has nice humor and is a fun little time but ultimately not really a full game, 2.5 Stars for that one.

The second one on the other hand, is this concept fully realized and taken to new heights. This thing mixes every major genre into this action RPG main game, and somehow it works very very well. If it was just the main action RPG i would give it a 3 or 4 stars but considering what they pulled off here i can't not give it 5 stars.

Plus the game is loaded with references to classic games, anime and movies that we all know and love, that's always a plus in my book.

Finished at 100%.

Utterly charming. I'm currently playing through the first game and I'm about to take the fight to the final boss. It's been such a fun journey, it'll be sad to see it end. Excited to play through the second game.

Beat the first game of this two game bundle. Was cool seeing the evolution of adventure/rpg games.

It's just Evoland 1 & 2. Neither is worth your time IMO.

Just finished the first at 94.7% completion. This was cute, more of a "hey check out this idea," with plenty of references along the way. Most of this takes place in the style of Zelda, with some turn based combat on overworld maps, and a dungeon crawler level. They did a good job with the last boss.

I think they could have done more with the Gameboy, NES, and SNES styled bits, but then it might have overstayed its welcome, already being a bit threadbare outside of the styling.

All in all, they did a nice job with the thesis statement, looking forward to the sequel!

Played the first one for about an hour or so. The concept is great and I loved the humour in text but in the end it's making me play a very generic RPG game. Some parts in the evolution (For instance, the Gameboy era) went by way too quickly.
