I like Lego games, but I hate Disney bad fanfic Star Wars, so I had very mixed feelings playing this. I didn't pay attention to any of the story, but those names... It's painful.

Surprisingly good.

While being based off only one movie, this game does a lot right. Classic LEGO humor, fun gameplay, insane roster of characters, it’s all here.

So-so gameplay, excellent fidelity to source material

Pros:

+ Faithful to both the Star Wars and Lego brands visually and aurally. Pleasantly surprised that most actors reprised their roles.

+ Simple, easy gameplay for the kids.

+ Lots of collectible stuff if you're into that, should heighten replay value quite a lot.

+ A few nifty puzzles.

+ A surprising amount of mockery of The Force Awakens. …

Impressed Disney let them get away with so much blatant piss-taking.

+ Fills in some gaps from the movie that fans will enjoy.

Cons:

- It's INCREDIBLY easy, to the point where there's very little reward for adults. You can't get a game over from dying so you can just brute force through it.

- The game isn't very intuitive; it gives you relentless button prompts for the easy sections and then you'll find yourself running around cluelessly for 5 minutes because you have no idea what to do.

- Fiddly physics and controls can prove frustrating.

- Gameplay is very samey repetitive tasks for the most part, just like almost every other LEGO video game.

- Lack of autosave during missions can be annoying. The game crashed on me twice and I lost about 15 minutes of progress because the game only autosaves after every 30 minute-or-so mission.

- If you play a lot of the LEGO games you might just feel fatigued by this point.
