The story is pretty good with some interesting turns but too long. The side characters are really entertaining. The world design is the generic Ubisoft that Sony's been doing in every open world game but somehow emptier. Horde hunting bumps the game up from 3 stars to 4, it's fun to bait a hundred zombies into some perfectly placed explosive traps. Game looks great and runs great on PC. Probably wouldn't have liked this as much if I played it at launch, but it was enjoyable. Recommend playing on the hardest non-survival difficulty for a first playthrough (it's still pretty easy).

Definitely will finish it within the next couple of days.

I think it's safe for me to say I can give this game a 4/5 really liked it. I do enjoy narrative driven games, no matter the type of game.

Might have to turn sound down to make it less intense so I can focus more on what I am doing instead of my heart rate going through the roof and me forgetting to breathe.

Also: No one in their right mind would fight a horde at night. Especially not Deakon who knows more than most about their habits. I guess the developer wanted the explosions to look good and decided that's why it has to be night. sigh I hope this is not a mission that stops me from getting to the end of the story, because I can't git gud enough to do it.

Still playing Days Gone and enjoying it greatly. Yes the open world formula is what it is and the story isn't War and Peace from Tolstoy, but I think the protagonists make sense and I don't need to like them to want to know more about them and see where they will go, also I have a soft spot for Deek and there is a tiny cute dog.

Also every time it feels repetitive the story takes a turn and drags me back in, like now that the doctor got murdered.

From the reviews I read after release, I did not expect to have this much fun, but games tend to get more middle ground reviews when the hype about them is over than shortly after release when it is always all or nothing, the best or the worst game ever.
