I stumbled on this, curious about the backlog of the devs who made the amazing game The Excavation of Hob’s Burrow. An incredibly atmospheric folk horror point and click game and one of my favorites of 2022.
Mudlarks is like, a very rough prototype of that game. It has a similarly eerie story of hauntings in the UK, but with really janky photoshop collage art and some annoying puzzles. There’s plenty to like too though: the writing, the locations, some of the puzzles, etc
I liked it. It’s up for free on itch.io, and is fairly lengthy. If you loved Hobs Burrow, then it’s definitely worth checking out. But they grew a ton, with better writing, way better art, and some puzzle playtesting. I’m eager to see what they put out next!
