while the acting is quite good and the individual storylines are just interesting enough to keep you going, the nature of how the game handle your choices is a huge immersion breaker and could ruin the thinly veiled illusion for you: every option you pick from a dialogue tree actually changes your character's backstory (e.g. if you say you're a vegan, you actually are one and your date would react positively, and if you said you're a meat eater you would just magically have been one this whole time) and it makes the game more like a very simple puzzle that there isn't any incentive to "play a character" but to guess and create the perfect character for your date.
