Remaster of Lollipop Chainsaw
3.38 average rating based on 42 ratings
Silly cheesy and absolutely chaotic. I feel like I'm committing a bit of a sin by having the RePop version be my first playthrough for this game. I feel like the old soundtrack sounds just like my kind of stuff and would have fit this game a lot better. I found almost all the songs here kind of boring but didn't know how much of a disappointment that was until I read some reviews after finishing it.
Music aside, the game itself is enjoyable but overall very simple and at times a little lackluster. It's one of those games where the gameplay doesn't get all that enjoyable until you've unlocked like 70% of the combos. A lot of the boss fights were also just not that fun, being a lot of just dodging and hitting QTEs which I know was emblematic of the games from them but just isn't that fun for me now.
Still I love the style of the game, with a feeling of full femininity along with gore, dumb edgy 2000's humor, and a band of insane yet likeable characters. Had a fun time with this, and can't really ask for more from this short and sweet …

Is it me or this remaster looks almost exactly the same as the original? Although I might be biases by having played it on a PS3 emulator, which provided higher framerate and resolution than the original hardware.
The website lists the changes, which besides the graphical improvements, reads like a set of patchnotes for a modern game. Some rebalancing, small tweaks to movement and camera, etc
