This might sound like a "Well, duh" moment, but I played the story mode of this one for the first time today - I owned it YEARS ago, but only ever played Arcade - but I had no idea this game was both a direct continuation to MK Armageddon AND a reboot.

Which is really funny, because Mortal Kombat 1 is literally just... The same general idea MK9 had. A timeline reset to the first tournament to avoid an apocalypse scenario.

You see it's like poetry, it rhymes.

But I'm not gonna write it off just yet. I know the general gist of MK11's ending, which has me interested in the 2010s Trilogy. MK9 looks and runs amazing on Series X - though the in-engine cutscenes and gameplay are noticeably higher quality than the pre-rendered ones. And I think the broader MK lore is interesting and flexible enough to allow for a sort of, "Repeating timeline with subtle changes that cause major changes later" storyline.

But Hsu-Hao will always be the worst character in the series.

The Mortal Kombat Komplete edition was delisted from Steam, so I have this version in my Delisted shelf.

I wanted to play the MK Reboot so badly a few years ago, and now that I played... It's not as good as I thought it would be. I don't get how the story works and there are a lot of problems with it, The Kombat system feels unbalanced yet I still somehow enjoyed it, and WHY are all of the Females in this game are 90% naked?

What crowd was this game targeting? what was the hype I had about this game?

No Fatalities in story mode? Definitely gotta learn to juggle combos to do any sustainable damage.

Fatalities are the only things worth watching....the story mode is definitely underwhelming!

I watched Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, the new direct-to-streaming animated movie.

Well this is not a game, obviously, but it's Mortal Kombat so maybe a few of you will be interested in my review in spanish.

I didn't liked it much. The animation are characters designs are fine. The intro, with the massacre of the Shirai Ryu and Scorpion's family, is actually great, but the rest of the movie is very dull. Scorpion is not really the protagonist. the trio of Liu Kang, Sonya and Johnny Cage has more screen time and they're just boring stereotypes. The worst is Cage. I didn't knew Joel McHale, which I like a lot, could be so bad at voice acting.

It still has cool fight scenes and enough easter eggs to satisfy MK fans, but its not a very good movie.

I own Komplete Edition of the game. Great fighting style, bloody fatalities and awesome characters. Also, the story mode is not so bad.
