After beating the base game two months ago, I've finally came back to Pokémon Emerald Version. Doing a bunch of post game stuff, and filling up my Pokédex.

Emerald actually didn't hold up as well as I remembered. It's still really good but I no longer place it at the top of my personal Pokemon rankings

Now attempting my first Professor Oak Challenge. RSE and GSC were the two pokemon generations that were during my most nostalgic times, even if I may have played more Gen 5 (maybe?) The deciding factor was the box system being better in Gen 3, even if I might have preferred the soundtrack in Gen 2 just slightly. Either way, looking …

Either way, looking forward to some mindless leveling while watching shows and hanging with the wife.

#1 Asking the A.I.

Question: Does Pokémon Emerald have too much water?

A.I: Due to the map design and the presence of various routes, the game does indeed have a significant amount of water areas. Some players have noticed this and humorously referred to it as "too much water." Pokémon Emerald's expansive map undeniably features a significant number of water routes, islands, and locations with aquatic themes. Water occupies around 50% of the playable landscape, providing ample opportunities for water encounters. While frequent water exploration can be seen as overwhelming to some players, it is essential to view this design choice as a deliberate and balanced attempt to offer diverse gameplay experiences. To address the notion that Pokémon Emerald has an excess of water, we must consider the contextual relevance of this element within the game's narrative. The game's plot revolves around the concept of the balance between land and sea, with the legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon representing water and land, respectively. The extensive presence of water throughout the game world not only aligns with this central conflict but also reinforces the overall theme of achieving harmony between opposing forces. After careful analysis, we can conclude that the claim of Pokémon Emerald having an excessive focus on water holds limited validity. The prevalence of aquatic environments and Pokémon encounters is a deliberate design choice that enriches the gameplay experience. While individual preferences may vary, Pokémon Emerald's balanced incorporation of water elements strengthens the game's narrative, offers a diverse range of challenges, and provides an immersive world for players to explore. Ultimately, the perceived dominance of water in this game is an integral part of its charm and contributes to the overall enjoyment and lasting legacy of Pokémon Emerald.enter image description here

This game is probably my favorite game since I was a kid. An interesting gameplay that can hook you up for hours just to find a rare pokemon. Good story and decent graphics that can easily catch your attention.

I've played this game entirely like 6 or 7 times, and I never get tired of it. I love it. Maybe it's nostalgia talking but it's the Pokémon game that I enjoy the most.

Replaying this gem, I hate that you only have one save file for the game. I really wanted to replay it and finally ended up deleting my old save file, ROXXI (loved that name in middle school for some reason) with 168 hours logged on to it! Just booted it up again and found my self getting the same starter …

Replaying this gem, I hate that you only have one save file for the game. I really wanted to replay it and finally ended up deleting my old save file, ROXXI (loved that name in middle school for some reason) with 168 hours logged on to it! Just booted it up again and found my self getting the same starter as before (mud kip) and named it the old nickname I had for it (mudder) lol. I forgot how much grinding it takes to level up your team as well.
