Loved this enough to play twice through again to snatch up all the achievements I missed in the HD version. Now I'm stuck trying to decide if I want to jump straight into MGS: Peace Walker since I have it or stick to release order and see if I can track down a PS3 to play MGS 4.

Really enjoying the bit of the game I've played so far, but man... I wish I had known there'd be roughly a solid hour of cutscenes capping off the first mission. I was gonna get ready for bed, but oh well.

Final Thoughts:

A big improvement over Metal Gear Solid 2 with a story that's on par with Metal Gear Solid 1 for me. Snake eater is one of the best video game opening themes ever! The game mechanics feel much more improved with both CQC and the first-person angle, even if the button schemes are still a bit clunky compared to 2010's standards. The characters are iconic and memorable, even if the animation style is even more out-there exaggerated with all that 20-minutes of Revolver Ocelot gun juggling. MGS3 definitely also has its key memorable moments, from climbing the tallest ladder I've ever seen in a game to the ending that's outright tragic.

Definitely objectively the best Metal Gear Solid game currently that excels with a great story, atmosphere, and at least the controls are more functional than MGS 1&2.
