Not My Usual Style Of Shooter, But Well-Done And Fun, Even If Level 8+ Are Too Hard For Me

Preliminary: I thought this would be a very brief playtest based on the playthrough videos. The screen looked super crowded, not particularly amazing graphics-wise for arcade, and looked focused on first-person maze vibes which I never like. Preliminary: I thought this would be a very brief playtest based on the playthrough videos. The screen looked super crowded, not particularly amazing graphics-wise for arcade, and looked focused on first-person maze vibes which I never like. But I'm already on the third stage, felt the way it handled the shooting to be quite good and fresh and fun, and found the twist left/right joystick doable enough. Disappointed to read online it's not very clear how many stages there are, as in doesn't have a set ending in any way. Maybe I'll just shoot for 10 stages and call it a day.

Look: 8/10 I was going to say I really like the stance he makes when going between levels. And then was going to remark how it reminded me of Blasto with how you shoot and the "3d" depth (which was surprisingly well-done/understandable). And then saw him blow the gun smoke after killing all the enemies in a level... and I realized: all those are Blasto-esque! (This stance btw) enter image description here

Sound: 8/10 Great arcade jams

Play: 7/10 Surprisingly well-done, good controls and good handling of the first-person aspects. (It's not actually first-person, hard to explain tho, I guess you call that what over-the-shoulder third-person view?).

Feel: 7/10 Like I said, gave a Blasto feel without the tacky sexual jokes. A game I wanted to enjoy more, and achieved the first-person/3d-depth aspects better than expected, but too difficult for me.

Attachment: 8/10 Well woops I accidentally took a warp zone from level 4 to level 7, and uh it wasn't as fun there. And Level 8 was only worse ha. I guess it's one of those games I enjoy the early game for, but not so much the mid... let alone late game. Though I likely will never play through this game, I do think I might return to it and show my brothers the first few levels etc. Hell, if I saw someone really good at the game playing it at an arcade, I'd surely stick around to watch a playthrough. So I bumped this to an 8 instead of the initial 7. Odd to give a game I only played so little of such a high rating for attachment, but sometimes a reasonable difficulty (even when I can't overcome it) can be enjoyed in other ways besides playing it.

Completion: To Level 8 Playtime: ~20 mins

AT first this game looks a lot like the old first person dungeon crawler RPGS where you get a party of four (Dungeon Master) that play like shooters... but its actually in third person and you have a radial joystick that you can slowly turn to rotate in four directions, side stepping up down left and right alittle to dodge incoming atacks. It's a hard game and you basically try to get to the end of the floor before your helath runs out (which functions as a gauntlet-like clock) It supports to players simultaneously which would be quite helpful. The top two character portraits act as displays instead of allow additional players (This is not a four-player game, unfortunately) After several floors i grew a bit tired of it
