The game just isn’t fun, there’s no sense of accomplishment because you will be fighting against the game the whole playthrough instead of improving your skills. The devs has turn essentially what’s a hamster ball game into a frustrating fish ball simulator. There’s absolutely no way to turn when you are going in one direction, and you basically have to pray that you bump into something to allow you to change direction.
So, near as I can tell, there is no way to activate "Iron Fish" mode or change to "Bossa" controls in this game. One review stated Iron Fish is unlocked after beating the game....but there's literally two simplistic menus, neither of which include this option in them, and nobody else, in all of my searching online, has an answer as to how to activate these things, leading me to believe they flat out don't even exist at this point and Boss is just trolling us lol
Gf suggests maybe a new save file, since there's nowhere else to change difficulty and whatnot, but that doesn't make sense since reviews say it only unlocks after beating the game, and the achievement is to beat the game with these settings. Idk man.
So if anyone has any input, lemme know, cause I'm goddamned baffled.
I Am Fish was a lot of fun until the flying fish which is literally so broken design and control wise you can't even make half the jumps they expect you to to progress, so. Glad I only paid 7 bucks for it. Had a good time for a while at least, but moving on now.
While I may not go in for the "more difficult than fun" games, I do make an exception for Bossa games, because while sometimes mildly frustrating (and designed purposefully to be so), they are in fact willing not so difficult that you can't progress, much to many peoples belief.
I Am Fish and I Am Bread are the perfect examples, because despite hearing so much about both and how difficult they are, I found that once I got the control schemes down, they were, for the most part, about twitch timing.
I Am Fish is glorious, by the way.
Cute, but it's not grabbing me. It's a bit like Marble Madness or Super Monkey Ball, staring a fish in a bowl. It has a quirky story, but feels like something that might have been more interesting on mobile with gyroscopic controls.
