Daylight is one sale in the PS store right now. Half off. Based on ratings and reviews here on Grouvee I'm torn on whether or not it is worth picking up.

It's not the scariest game of all-time or anything, but it's pretty damn creepy, even if it doesn't stay creepy the entire time. The look of the shadows and whatnot are pretty scary, and wandering through the dark corridors with just a light from my smartphone (which also ends up being your map) put me on edge a little bit. I jumped a couple times, but since the hallways all look the same it's easy to get lost.

The problem is... when you get lost it's not scary, it gets boring. Yes there's a map, but essentially the gameplay is to collect things that could be anywhere you just end up running around trying to find these little remnants. I understand that they're going for "dark, alone and lost," but it just didn't work here.

The forest is a little better, but it's still more of the same. Even though the levels are procedural, I don't know why somebody would want to play it again.

The story is fine and some of the notes are legitimately well done. Same with the images that it shows.

The puzzles are stupid and unnecessary. You move boxes and climb places. To be honest these weren't needed and just detract from the experience.

Still, Daylight is a tad underrated because it seems to be getting really negative reviews. It's not great, or even very good, but it's a decent, somewhat scary game.
