Ouendan series and primarily involves clicking circles that appear on screen in time with music using a cursor or finger. The game features four rulesets: osu!standard (click circles, sliders, and spinners), osu!taiko (drum-based notes inspired by Taiko no Tatsujin), osu!catch (catching falling fruit), and osu!mania (vertically scrolling key-based notes). Levels, called beatmaps, are created and uploaded by the community, providing a large and constantly expanding library. This game introduced me to a lot of amazing music, and to one of my greatest friends, Fran. I will forever be grateful for it's existence and my time playing it. The competitiveness of it all and the importance of the leaderboard made me quit, but I made great memories playing this game.

clicking circles for fun

i played this maybe like 3 times with my friends and was awful at it. but hey i got to listen to shawty like a melody anime remix while i did it so it was pretty fun i guess

Do you watch a lot of anime? No? Then this game is 100% NOT FOR YOU. If you do watch a lot of anime and love the music and soundtracks of anime and video games then this game is a must play.

A free, community-driven rhythm game, Osu! is a great time. You can download an infinite number of songs and play them in a variety of game modes, with different difficulty and added challenges. Some modes include piano mode, which works like guitar hero. Osu! regular which has you dragging the mouse to the beat. Fruit catcher in which you catch fruit beats falling from the top of the screen. Taiko where you pound a drum to beat of the music. All of these modes can have added challenges or mechanics that can make the song easier, some of which can affect your score on the online leaderboards. You can make the song speed up, have invisible notes, limited sight, and extra hard mode.

For some examples of the kind of music that can be downloaded, here are some shows and games that have songs included in the Osu! database:
