Grand Theft Auto IV is an action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the eleventh title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first main entry since 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on-foot or by vehicle. Throughout the single-player mode, players play as Niko Bellic. An online multiplayer mode is included with the game, allowing up to 32 players to engage in both co-operative and competitive gameplay in a recreation of the single-player setting. Two expansion packs were later released for the game, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, which both feature new plots that are interconnected with the main Grand Theft Auto IV storyline, and follow new protagonists. Now that Rocsktar reworked this game, got rid of GWFL stuff, it still feels like a bad console port. Doesn't really have a soul, like VC or SA. Very bland, repetitive and overall just meh.

I'd never gotten around to playing this one. Looks good! As a New Yorker, it's fun to see the familiar setting. I've never really bothered with the missions in these games, so instead I watched an hour and a half of a Let's Play and that was enough. Instead, I had a grand ol' time as always: sandbox pedestrian murder-simulator! …

Played the PC version.

GTA 4 it has an engaging story, good characters with their own great story, problems, an excentric beahvior and ton of action, why the heck i didnt play this game in 2008 like everyone else dammit. After this game i ll skip lost and damned and go directly to The ballad of gay Tony. Plis, if you are one of those who hasnt played this gem either shoot yourselve in the leg or buy it on steam, its like 5 dollars i think.

Impresionante.

It had a really great story, but messing up (or loses by random chance) at the end of a 30 min mission meant repeating the entire mission over again. It had a really great story, but messing up (or loses by random chance) at the end of a 30 min mission meant repeating the entire mission over again. Sometimes there was a 5 min drive just to get from the mission start to the destination (followed by a big battle, followed by a car chase/losing your wanted level). Those moments got frustrating. A tip: try to use taxis to cut down on travel time. Not very glamorous, but there's a surprising amount of missions where your companion will follow you into a taxi (even if they started out in a different car). A couple other notes: playing on PS3, the game glitched during the 3rd to last mission where I got stuck towards the end, forcing me to replay. Also, the auto-aim, while usually a good thing, would fail to pick up enemies I was standing near, allowing them to shoot me at point blank even though I was trying to fire at them.

i cannot believe that i never played this game before,

all in all it aged very well and is extremely enjoyable in 2015, which is 7 long years after its release in 2008
