Down to my final six missions. Been a really fun journey, but ready to put this to pasture, no pun intended.

After 26 hours of gameplay I've finally escaped Chapter 2. At this point I'm unsure if I want to even try to finish the story. It's solid, but not really what I'm playing the game for. I enjoy wandering around and hunting things so much more but only occasionally picking up a story quest will mean I'll never see the …

I enjoy wandering around and hunting things so much more but only occasionally picking up a story quest will mean I'll never see the end of it or drop 100+ hours into it before I do, which I don't really want either.

I know this is a PS4/Xbox One generation game, but the graphics are so gorgeous on my Xbox Series S. The water from the ocean looks so realistic.

The Arthur-Mary Beth romance is one of the best love stories I've seen told in a video game, despite it being sad in many ways. The writing in this game is so strong.

I think the thing about this game that is the most jarring for me is the pace. It is SO SLOW. I was warned about this, and even going into it with that knowledge, I still find it a bit of an adjustment. I still love the game and the experience so far, but compared to so many other games …

I think the thing about this game that is the most jarring for me is the pace. It is SO SLOW. I was warned about this, and even going into it with that knowledge, I still find it a bit of an adjustment. I still love the game and the experience so far, but compared to so many other games I've played in my life, this one really tests (and rewards) your patience.

Now with Lost Crown complete, going back to this, when my new Balatro addiction doesn't get in the way.

Do people have chillout routines in games or specific tasks they do to relax? I've been using Red Dead Online as a chill out game in the evenings with my partner lately to wind down after a busy day. So far we've enjoyed a sciffle band in the moonshine bar and lots of fishing, hunting, and collecting treasures. Yesterday we did a little more fishing before going on a train journey from Saint Denis to Strawberry. We travelled along the top of the map close to the snowy mountain ranges of the Grizzlies.

It might sound a bit like a pensioners coach trip, but it's a really nice way to unwind after work. The vistas were beautiful, and it was real nice seeing parts of the map I hadn't really paid much attention to, especially from these angles.

The ambient music sets the chilled out vibes quite nicely in the game anyway with crickets chirping in the background and faint harmonicas playing. The lighting was beautiful, the waterfalls and trees looked like a painting, and even looking up at the smoke from the train passing over us with silhouettes of birds was nice.

I've been playing Red Dead for a long time, but yesterday my partner showed me a feature in the online game that I hadn't seen before and loved it. It didn't involve shooting, or any kind of violence, it was the ability to hire a skiffle band to perform in your moonshine bar. Not only can you request them to play music, but you can also ask to join in and take up an instrument. You can also dance as people talk and drink around you. It's such a wholesome feature.

enter image description here

I can't describe why I love this part of the game so much but it's really cool to be able to step back in time and appreciate some genuinely impressive music. Maybe it's because during this time, family, friends, and good times are all most people had and deep down it's something that connects with us all. Rockstar have nailed the atmosphere, I love how the place feels alive. When using an instrument, the player model sways and smiles, you can even flourish, twirling around whilst playing.

enter image description here

There's real heart and passion here, a sense of community and belonging, hidden away in a small section of the game. I wish more of this stuff was present, activities and actions where you felt part of a community, where NPCs would smile at you, laugh, and welcome you in. It's a togetherness I can't quite describe but it feels great here. Music heals the soul!

The storytelling in this game is some of the best storytelling I've seen in a video game. You truly grow to like certain characters, even if they are "bad" guys.
