This game is super impressive at first, until you learn just how empty the world is. I'm not even 30 hours in and i've already seen so many events repeated (dead horse, poisoned, camp hostage). There are so few "real" features on the map too. Most of it seems to exist so you can grind perfect skins for upgrades (probably the worst aspect of the game).
It's also shockingly clunky in parts, especially when it comes to honor/crime. Three guys try to murder me? No one cares. I kill them? No one cares. I loot their bodies? That's theft!
I also hate how the quests force you to murder dozens and dozens of people. What's the point of having a karma system when you're going to take away my agency anyway?

Oh, man, I just don't know about this. I don't know if it's not for me or if I need to give it more time. I enjoy playing my games and I hate too much exposition. I just finished the train mission and I feel kinda dissapointed. I tried goofing around the train, but I honestly hate how all the …

I just finished the train mission and I feel kinda dissapointed. I tried goofing around the train, but I honestly hate how all the characters keep yelling at me while trying to explore the map. Now we are back in keep pressing X to play. I wish I could at least leave it in auto mode. The characters talk so much, I wish it would be more show, don't tell. I actually played the first RDR and I really liked it, but at this point in the story I don't care enough about the characters to listen to them for hours talking...

I can't bring myself to play past the first hour. It's so phenomenally boring I am in tears. Movement is also very clunky. I am extremely disappointed with it, I just can't bring myself to play another minute. I say play, but I just keep pressing forward or X

Revisiting read dead online after a long time away from the game. I didn't want to come back to the high octane, and almost always stresful PvP or the endless grinding for gold via missions. So, instead I've decided to take a more relaxed approach... some would even say a role playing approach.

My goal is to strip everything back to the basics and take my time. In many ways I am actively working against the efforts Rockstar have made to make the online gameplay faster. I can't get around the fact that looting and gunplay is sped up, but what I am doing is going out of my way to walk and trot everywhere.
It took me an hour to slowly trot from van horn to valentine and I loved every second of it. Slowing down let me soak up the atmosphere, the nature, the animals, buildings, NPCs, the weather etc.

During my hour long ride I discovered a house demolished by a tree, watched a train ride past the oil fields, witnessed other players speed past me on a wagon frantically shooting enemies, and npcs drunkingly walking out of valentine saloon.
If anyone feels like they need to take a moment to unwind, relax, clear their head, maybe practice some mindfullness, then go on red dead online, turn on defensive mode and start walking:)

This game ruined gaming for me, an absolute masterpiece that will take some dethroning.
The level of detail that has gone into every aspect of this game is mind blowing, if this isn't your type of game you'll admittedly need to soldier through the first 10 or so hours but it is well worth it.

I just got into the 3rd chapter. This is the farthest I've gotten into the game and I am absolutely loving it.

Picked this game up again and decided to start fresh. The game seems to be going by faster than it did before! I think I’m going to play it through to completion this time as I have a bit more free time to do it.
