Kratos Doesn’t Do Subtle

Kratos’ Anger Remastered: Now in High-Def!

These were two of my favorite games from the PS2 era and with this collection, remain some of my favorites from the PS3 era.

Kratos’ Anger Remastered: Now in High-Def!

These were two of my favorite games from the PS2 era and with this collection, remain some of my favorites from the PS3 era.

Without spoiling anything, the plot of the original two installments is basically what the box art promises: Kratos rage-quits on his old bosses at Olympus and takes it out on them in the most homicidal way possible, as well as pretty much anyone else that gets in his way. It's simple, but effective and highly entertaining.

Plot aside, there is still a lot of other things these games have going for them as well:

  • The graphics are antiquated by modern standards but were technical marvels of the PS2 and don't detract from the game. Environments are well done and the voice cast is top-notch.
  • The length is perfect, and you can beat both in about 20 hours combined.
  • The difficulty is balanced, the combat is a well-streamlined version of the style found in DmC, and the fixed camera actually works well for a game this old (!). Some QTEs are aggravating though.

Prima HD remaster di Sony

Ottima raccolta di due God of War, che beneficiano enormemente dell'aumentata risoluzione di PS3. Gradevolissimi da giocare con un gameplay tra Devil May Cry e Zelda. Consigliatissimo!!!! Voto: 9/10

The God of War 1 and 2 in higher resolution!

That's it, God of War 1 and 2 with Playstation 3 graphic quality. There isn't much to say, the game gives you what it offers. It's the same games, but with enhanced graphics. It's a saga that's very worth playing, the story, the battles, the brutality, the powers, the moves, the mechanics, everything is amazing. The games managed to be …

The games managed to be very rich in basically everything. It's very hard for me to find anything negative about this. If I had to make it better, I would have added more things in the games, more bonuses, maybe more stages (we all want more stages, right?), but yeah, they really didn't need to do that, they could have, but yeah, they gave us what they offered. If you're a fan of God of War and played the Playstation 2 games, I think you'll enjoy playing them again with better graphics, because well, they're great. If you still don't know the God of War franchise and enjoy epics games with violence, amazing powers and mythology, I think you'll enjoy it as well. I love this franchise, and it's great because you can play over and over in different difficulties investing in different weapons/powers along the game, having a different gameplay each time.

I can't believe I missed out on this series. I'll admit, Heavenly Sword brought me to GOW but GOW is far superior. Very happy I fixed my PS3 after getting a game jammed.
