A Long Game but a Good Game

Wow. This game certainly is an experience. And in true Legends of Heroes fashion, once you put the 60-70 hours in and all the threads of the plot come together, this game ends up telling a rather beautiful story. There are some really incredible and beautiful moments late in the game that make this so worthwhile. And the music is really good.

Overall, to keep this a spoiler free review - if you've played previous games in this series and really, really liked them, this game should also be rather appealing. It actually does make leveling up quite a bit easier in some ways - giving the player a dedicated space to grind in. I thought that was a rather cool idea.

I look forward to playing the next game in this series, albeit perhaps after some time has gone by. This game takes quite a commitment of time to work through.

A game for the fans

Trails Into Reverie is a huge love letter to those who have stayed over the years with Trails. It features a huge number of characters, customizations of many kinds, and hours and hours of content that you can just get yourself lost in.

The plot isn’t groundbreaking, but it does get presented it a very mysterious way that makes you …

I loved this game, it's definitely one of the best in the franchise and the first with an actual postgame, although honestly games as long as these do not need a postgame. Dejavu?

Nothing really mechanically wrong with this but it really felt like i was just re-playing the last game story wise. It's even acknowledged in game, im still SUPER hyped for the next game though especially since were finally getting a new cast. The amount of playable charcaters was just getting ridiculous (over 40 iirc)

Note that I played this almost …

Note that I played this almost immediately after Cold Steel 4, im sure people who played CS4 during its original release window wont have this same feeling. (In fact i played the WHOLE series in order one after the other it was AWESOME!!!!)

Love the Legends of Heroes games and this is one of the best

I've played all the games from Sky thru to this one, and I'm eagerly waiting for the localization of the Calvard games. I've finished the main game, but still have some Reverie Corridor stuff left to do, which I'm looking forward to for more mini-games and daydreams. I've played all the games from Sky thru to this one, and I'm eagerly waiting for the localization of the Calvard games. I've finished the main game, but still have some Reverie Corridor stuff left to do, which I'm looking forward to for more mini-games and daydreams. The game itself is a typical Trails game with all the characters I know and love (except Kevin and Reis - they were mentioned but never shown - what's up with that?). I talked to everyone several times and fought all sorts of monsters, old and new. I spent an inordinate amount of time adjusting my orbments, too. But just getting to see and spend time with all my old favorites is the best kind of gameplay. The story was good, and there were many moments where I laughed out loud and a few where I cried a little. These games may not appeal to everyone, but they are some of my very favorite JRPGs.
