A short point and click game with a unique graphical style. I would say that what drew me into this game was the unique art style. Handcrafted scenery merged excellently with the effects of the Unity engine. But that really is the best part of playing the game, the environment and the atmosphere in them. The music and sound design is also quite excellent and hums quietly in the background adding to the atmosphere accordingly.
The game feels nice and relaxing to play and the puzzles are not too obscure most of the time. I had to consult a walkthrough a few times due to some solutions just being so far out it would take me days to trial and error through it. Which is just in my opinion not that enjoyable. The gameplay and buttons layout is simple and feels nice. It was a relaxing experience to play.
The characters seem kind of flat with no interesting development arches throughout the game. The story also feels kind of blandly executed. It has a lot of potential covering quantum physics and surrealist questioning of reality but conveys these themes poorly. A lot of potentials, but a rushed result. Especially towards …

It has a lot of potential covering quantum physics and surrealist questioning of reality but conveys these themes poorly. A lot of potentials, but a rushed result. Especially towards the ending the whole development just feels really rushed, and the credits made me feel "was that it?" leaving me with an unsatisfying feeling at the ending of my playthrough. The game took me about 4 and a half hours to complete.
A pretty game to look at introducing interesting topics, but quite not much more than that.
this game could have been a lot better. It had a lot of great concepts but it just seemed to follow a standard formula that you do in math or physics. There not much character or storyline built in to the game itself. It never really explained what the mystery society is and where Gretchen's mother disappearance comes in to the story.
about Midway through I kind of lost interest a little bit about getting the quadrome(sp?) whatever fixed and both of the endings aren't that big of a deal. It really could have been a great game. So many parts that they could have capitalized on. it's a decent in between game but I won't be giving it a second play.
I had a lot of fun with a genre I actually don't normally care for. That's why I think so highly of the game length. It all depends on how fast you can solve the puzzles. It's not too hard nor too easy. It had just the right amount of difficulty. The voice acting was done quite well too, and I admire the goofy lines. The story could really have used some tweaks but it didn't ruin it. I wasn't blown away but that's not always a requirement for me to enjoy something that was made extremely well.
This is one of the easiest adventure games I've played. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's generally fun and rarely frustrating. It does have a puzzle or two that rely on real world knowledge and some that are just trial and error. It's highly influenced by and references the monkey island series several times. I enjoyed the story and the game style.
An expensive way to make a game. But such is art.
To begin with, I'm not a fan of point-and-click adventures, and I'm even sure why I decided to play that game.
Most of the puzzles lack logic, so it's a blessing that there is no actual inventory, and the game will provide you with a limited number of items to use on an object, and if there's a combination of items needed, the game will combine the items for you.
At one point you go fishing, and fish out a can opener, which you need to throw at a statue to break it. Really, a can opener was the best item for that?!
Also, sometimes you need to examine an item at a correct point in time to be able to interact with it, which I found frustrating.
In the beginning this Point-And-Click adventure hit some high notes. A real minimal interface with soft pixarish renders. none of the puzzles or item gathering was complex, and it has some nice features such as automatically combining items to make it more simple and only clicking the right thing to perform actions. You can also press Space Bar for 'item highlights' alerting you to most interactable objects (useful in dark areas, which there are some)

Halfway through the game, it starts to open up a bit more and that's where it began to wane for me. For the most part you can clear areas and take note of what you might need to return to. but at several times there was a single thing i needed somewhere to make progress and I had to look at a guide to figure out where i went wrong (hate that)

I also found the game to get a bit weirder and more convoluted in it's puzzle-solving logic as it got to the end.

Still, the game looks nice, has a unique mix of characters, setting and story, and pretty nice soundtrack (when there actually is music) this all gave it a different feel …

Still, the game looks nice, has a unique mix of characters, setting and story, and pretty nice soundtrack (when there actually is music) this all gave it a different feel in some ways to PnC type games... but I didn't really find it that engaging or immersive (or fun)
Keep in Mind, I don't really like most PnC's with maybe the exception of a handful that I really could say I got into. So, your mileage might vary if you enjoy the genre.
This is free on GOG for the next 69 hours:
kind of disappointed by how empty this was and how boring the puzzles were (you can't navigate your inventory?!), but it has enough charm to warrant a playthrough. Love the style and some nice voice acting.
Also, as a massive Twin Peaks and old school adventure game fan... I am actually getting a taaad bored of all these 'inspired by Twin Peaks' point and clicks. Like 'oh yeah coffee and cherry pie haha I geddit'.
