This Deus Ex entry felt like a watered-down version of the main series, coming from the mobile platform, the game didn’t translate well to PC. Clunky controls, outdated graphics, and awkward AI made it hard to stay engaged. The story had potential, but the execution felt flat, and the limited environments didn’t help. I tried to get into it, but it never clicked, and I ended up dropping it pretty quickly, it just didn’t live up to the Deus Ex name.

Another major issue was the lack of meaningful player choice, which is a core pillar of the Deus Ex identity. Levels felt restrictive and linear, offering few alternative paths or creative solutions to problems. Augmentations existed, but their impact was limited, making progression feel shallow rather than empowering. Instead of encouraging experimentation, the game often pushed you down a single, obvious route, stripping away the sense of agency that defines the series.

Technical problems and missing features further hurt the experience, menus and interfaces clearly retained their mobile roots, feeling cumbersome and unintuitive with other input formats. On top of that, the abrupt ending, widely known to be incomplete, left the narrative feeling unresolved and unsatisfying. This title came across less as a spin-off and more as a compromised port, making it difficult to recommend to fans of the franchise.

A mobile port that was left to rot.

Ok, so after the snickering subsided and I started to give the game an honest shot, it wasn't bad. It wasn't good either, but it wasn't worth the price I originally paid... Which I don't remember, but it probably wasn't worth it.

Ok, so after the snickering subsided and I started to give the game an honest shot, it wasn't bad. It wasn't good either, but it wasn't worth the price I originally paid... Which I don't remember, but it probably wasn't worth it.

It's a third of a game. I blew though this thing and I wasn't even trying. I focused on stealth, since the gun play was horrible, and flew through leveling. Most of the time I cleaned out places long before I had quests in them, and would waltz though them when I finally had a reason to be there.

The biggest issue I had involved pushing through an area, sneaking past a big bad, jumping on a vtol, and seeing a big "To be continued." I thought I was close to the half way mark, not the end of the game. I go to the menu and see a more content type tab to see "the story isn't over, check here for New content soon." This has been in my backlog for years. Nothing is coming out for this anymore.

Forgotten and left to rot...

ported from Ipad?

This is some weird pay-to-win get weapons/gear running in the background of what feels like a DX:HR DLC. It's short, promised us a sequel, I hope it doesn't happen, It's got the same atmosphere and has interesting places in the futures, so it's not all bad, but there is still some weirdness in it. It feels a little cheap. The maps and setting are superb and it still plays like a DX games... which salvage what would be a real disaster. but overall underwhelming.
