Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut is an expanded game for Deus Ex: Human Revolution which is an action role-playing game. It is the third game in the Deus Ex series, and a prequel to the original Deus Ex (2000). The gameplay—combining first-person shooter, stealth, and role-playing elements—features exploration and combat in environments connected to multiple city-based hubs, in addition to quests that grant experience and allow customization of the main character's abilities with items called Praxis Kits. After Prey and Dishonored, I felt like wanting to play more games like this so I decided to replay DEHR with directors commentary on. With a gamepad, this time. But the controls are all over the place and not configurable. Left stick button for crouch, left shoulder to sprint, right stick button to aim down sight and left trigger to use cover. Even if I configured it using external software, the UI controls are fucked.

The game is still great tho, both in visual and audio. Gameplay is stiff but I got used to it really quickly.

I can't begin to tell you the amount of time and effort I had playing this game full stealth no kills with some save scumming through the first mission getting into Detroit and putting the game down. I've owned this since launch and played that mission easily 2-3 times a year trying to get into the game. This time, I went in stealth lethal then switched to screw it, meet the business end of my shotgun and this changed the game for me. Ironically, the thing that made me switch styles was playing deus ex go where you see Jensen just...murder dudes without remorse. I enjoyed the main plot and stopped reading docs about half way through...mainly due to having read the first chapter of the game so much. Either way this is worth a play through, and never feel like you have to be bound to a particular playstyle. Except run and gun. It doesn't work to well....

Tons of action, great story, futuristic world, amazing gameplay, I don;t have enough words to describe all the joy that this game brought me. * love it from the bottom of my heart and I can't wait to play it's sequel.
